On Track to Success - For Donors

As part of our mission to ensure that kids succeed in school and grow into healthy adults, the On Track to Success Program was officially launched in Leamington during the Spring of 2015. Research tells us that keeping kids in school can improve many life outcomes, including improved health, higher life-long earning potential, and reducing the likelihood of at–risk behaviours like substance misuse, and illegal activities.

PROGRAM GOALS:

  • Increase high school graduation rates for students living in low income
  • Increase number of youth who enroll in a post-secondary education or trade program

The program also seeks to assist youth to develop skills and networks to help them to succeed in the modern job economy. Students with a minimum of one year of post-secondary education are shown to have $11,000 -17,000 more in annual earnings during their lifetime, essentially putting them on a pathway to prosperity. (see Overcoming the Odds Report)

The On Track to Success program is delivered in collaboration with a number of community partners. The program supports students in grades 9-12 at both the Leamington and West Windsor sites. The goal is to enroll 20 students per year per site into the program.

It costs $5,000 to support a student for one year of the five-year program. Many of our donors make a multi-year commitment to support a student for five years.
