Summer can be the hungriest time of year for children.
1 in 3 food bank recipients in Windsor-Essex County are children. We know that locally, families rely on school nutrition programs to help feed their children nutritious meals. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many schools to close several times, making the need for food support even greater. Children need healthy food to grow and thrive, and that's why we're committed to ensuring that no child goes hungry in our community.
United Way's Summer Eats for Kids program provides children and families in Windsor-Essex with nutritious snacks, fruits, and vegetables during the summer months when school nutrition programs are closed. The program also offers books for children and families.
Help us fill 4,000 food boxes for children. With your donation, you can improve a child's nutrition, health, and educational success. Full tummies lead to bright minds!
